This helps to reduce your pain, ache, and discomfort without the use of injections, medications and surgery. It generally comprises of 8 different procedures or therapies using the following treatment devices/techniques :
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) – TENS is an electronic medical device that relieves pain through electrical stimulation. It stimulates nerves by transmitting mild electrical currents through your skin.
IFT (Interferential Therapy) – A type of electrotherapy that uses mild electric currents to stimulate tissues and treats muscle spasms and strains
Ultrasound – An instrument with a high frequency generator that is used to detect and treat pain and muscle spasms.
Shortwave Diathermy – Uses electromagnetic radio waves to convert energy into heat waves to reduce stiffness, treat muscle spasms and relieve pain.
Hot & Cold Therapy – Using hot and cold pack application, this promotes blood flow and helps to relax muscles. It is used to treat acute injuries and reduce inflammation, swelling and improve tissue flexibility.
Traction Device – Traction is a manual pulling/stretching technique that reduces pressure on vertebral discs. It stretches the spine and reduce pain among discs.
Manual Therapy – “Hands On” physical therapy to reduce pain and improve mobility of joints, tissues and nerves.
Wax Therapy – A deep heat therapy that uses paraffin wax by slightly warming the connecting tissues to increase mobility of joints.
Exercise therapy is provided for patients who need to adopt an exercise routine to ease their pain. The exercise therapy provided covers the following aspects :
Stretching – a form of physical exercise that involves stretching and flexing muscles or tendons to improve its elasticity.
Strengthening – (also known as resistance exercise) increases muscle strength through working with weight.
We also provide home visits for our patients who are unable to travel to the center for their treatments. Home physiotherapy services includes:
Portable equipment – We bring along our portable equipment such as portable ultrasound and tens to provide services in the comfort of your home.
Exercise therapy with assistive devices – We use assistive devices like walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and others to help patients to increase mobility and to be more independent.
